Boitumelo Diseko's evocative artworks deal with themes surrounding the female body and how these memories can be encoded onto the land space. Blurring the line between the figurative and the abstract Diseko, uses contour lines to form images that connect the human form to the terrain they inhabit. Working in a variety mediums from painting to ink drawing and installation works, Diseko draws inspiration from both her experiences as well as the stories of sexual abuse, abortion and other social issues she absorbs from the women around her and the literature she reads.
